The Village Hall was built in 1957 by the County Council to replace the old Memorial Hall, a First World War army hut, erected on land gifted for the purpose in Meadow Cottages behind the present Nursery School.
The original hut was purchased with money from a Thanksgiving Fund raised by the village in memory of the Little Kingshill men who had fallen in or survived the First World War.
The site on which the present Village Hall and the First School now stand was given to the County Council by the Trustees of the Memorial Hall, with a substantial donation for the building work from the Thanksgiving Fund. Chiltern District Council also contributed to the construction of the Hall, which is unique in that it is the only village hall in the county owned and maintained by Bucks County Council (BCC).
The Trust Deed (called Licence) between BCC and the Trustees grants the village use of the Hall on a 99-year lease, due to expire in 2056.
